

Squandering FaceI think that many of us unconsciously, when we see another person's face, automatically begin applying unconscious perceptual qualities to that person based on how we intuitively expect a person with those facial features to behave (as an astrologist might clumsily evaluate a person's future and/or personality based on that person's astrological sign). This facet of our human condition tends to benefit our individual survival to a certain extent in that it can potentially spare us cognitive cycles (i.e. time-esp. in time-critical situations where we must quickly and quietly decide "Is this person friend or foe?"), but I think thisSquandering Face
